Tuesday

Today is not a happy day for me. I had to put my beloved pet, Brit the 14 1/2 year old dog, to sleep today. I never had any children of my own so I felt like my animals were my kids. I cannot really concentrate on much today (or this past weekend knowing what was coming.) This has been one of the hardest days of my life. I hate being weepy, but that has been my day.

The good thing was that it is a lovely sunny day today and at least God made that happen for me today. I needed the sun on a day like today.

I am so sorry for your loss. You & Brit had such a long time together & you will always have her with you. I was where you are not long ago & you helped me through with your kind words. Hope you can bask in the sun & let the good memories flood over you.

XO

I am sorry for your loss too. I have been in your shoes and headed that way again myself with our old girl. I'm glad you have the sunshine today to help you. Brit is already watching over you.

I know what a hard thing that was to do. You go ahead and be weepy for as long as you need to be. You need to grieve. But you also need to remember the happy times and know that she is running in the sunshine now without any pain or a care in the world.

I am so sorry for your loss. I sit here with tears in my eyes typing this as I will be in your situation in the near future. My beautiful little Peaches is 16 years old and looks it. So far she still has many moments of clarity, but is declining daily. I got a new puppy a year ago so as to make the transition for her companion easier.

I am sending you my hugs.

Thank you all. Today is much easier. I got up with the thought that a huge burden had been lifted -for her and me. It is hard sometimes for me to verbally speak words in person, so sharing this with all my online readers and friends has helped me so much to cope with her passing. Your encouraging words, thoughts, and prayers have been tremendous. She is definitely in a better place.

I do worry about my husband-he was a trooper yesterday for me and today is another story. This week will be tough on him because he was always at home all day with her.

The thoughts of another puppy are mixed right now. The house is so quiet and still even with the cat around. Though it is hard to think about that with her passing. We will cross that bridge when we get to it. Thanks everyone.

I'm so sorry for you loss of a dear loved one and friend. My pets are my kids and it is so hard to lose them!
Our cat Jazz is nearing the point where we are faced with that very dilemma and it's already breaking my heart just to think of it.
May you continue to be lifted up as the days go by.
Cyber hug to you dear!

Theresa, I am so sorry. Hope you are feeling a little better by now. I went through that last summer and it did help to think that he is running after his pink soccer ball in doggy heaven and pain free now. But I still cry from time to time when I miss him. hugs! doni

I'm so sorry to read this! I had to let my 17-year-old cat Wolfgang go this past Summer. I created a shop and an entire line of work on Etsy in his name. I think he approves!

It's never easy, but when they're part of our very souls from years of wedded bliss, it's very tough. I hope you're holding up OK.

Wow! Thank you so much. The days are getting easier. It has been a full week now.

I appreciate all the stories about your pets and all of you who are facing this situation too will be in my thoughts and prayers....even if I am not aware of the exact "moment." God is so good!

**Hugs** back to everyone!
