My day off on Wednesday...

Well yes, yesterday I was snowed in as we had 9 inches of snow fall here. I spent time online, got my homework done for the week, and sewed some.

I started out by making a couple of quilt blocks in blue and white....did not picture those yet as I have special plans for them later....:)

But then I remembered my friend, Trish, posting about some fabric bowls she had made and so I decided to read up on it and make some of my own. I kind of kept going and created a big bowl so here it is. Let me know what you think.....I am off to work now, but I am going to get some more cord to make more of these. The bowl was SUPER FUN to make.

New purse listing last night

First off let me thank everyone for the input on the closure question I had. I used a combination of both loop/button and Velcro to complete it. It is now listed on Etsy and will be on Bonanzle today when I get to it. Here are some pictures -I could only use 5 pics on the listing so here are some extras too....I think it turned out super cute! The next one I make will be taller though.

:) I woke up to this....

9 inches of snow fell overnight. No school. We have a level 2 snow advisory which means no travel unless absolutely necessary. I shoveled the front of the house and still have the back to do this afternoon. I had to take a break!! Lots of sewing for me to do today too!! yay~if only I can peel myself off the computer!!

LOL 2 more things....

I am in a rare mood today- cannot explain it.

Well I am so excited!! I made my first sale on Bonanzle today!!

And

I am snowed in for the evening and possibly tomorrow. So back to the sewing table I go...I have been goofing off on the computer this afternoon.

2 things...

There are 2 things I am going to work on today here at home:

1. Putting the 2 loops and buttons on the rag quilted scrappy purse.

and

2. Sewing button on 3 more pincushions I have sitting here that are out of the dryer.

We are expecting more snow tonight so we will see what tomorrow brings in the way of creativity for me....I am waiting to use my new Accucut machine due to needing a plastic sheet for the top. So that is on hold for a bit now.

Will post pics and projects when they are done later today.

Monday Monday!

Well for being so unbelievably busy (as in pulled apart by all limbs) over the weekend I have finally found a few short hours to list a few items and post here in my blog.

Friday night I worked 2 basketball games, then 2 more Saturday afternoon, and finally 2 more Saturday night....
.uh lets just say I am ready for BASEBALL! lol

Yesterday after church, I did manage to complete 3 more pretty pincushions made rag quilted style. They are listed in my Etsy shop and my Bonanzle Booth.

To blog or not to blog? That is the QOTD to myself!

Let me explain: I want to blog everyday, but I don't always have something productive happening as far as Rag Quilting goes. My job wears me out and then I am taking an online class this semester too, so that puts me even farther behind on my sewing.

Well the weekends are my time to sew. I wish I could sew everyday and have all kinds of pictures to show on a daily basis. Yesterday I had a nice package arrive in the mail. It was my Accucut rag quilt die that I ordered last weekend. I really did not have time to sit down and get to use it which kind of bummed me out. But at least it is here now. I can now start to make bigger rag quilts without having the fear of all that clipping to do and when am I going to get it done?

My agenda for this weekend after all the ballgames I will cover are:
1. Sew stack of pincushions and get some listed.
2. The rest is up in the air- I cannot think of what I want to do or NEED to do. Rest maybe??

Need Opinions...

This is my new scrappy rag quilt purse.

1. What do you think of it? (be honest)
2. So you think it is too shallow? It is 13"x7"x4" and the straps have a 15" drop.
3. Should I add a closure? if so what type? (For some reason I cannot decide what to do with it)

New Rag Purse done and listed...

At last! I have
made another Rag Purse! It has been awhile, but I had a kit from a friend of mine, so she might recognize the fabrics!!! I acquired the kit from a mystery box that we send around in our Quilting Corner Group. I have had this kit for awhile now and just put it together and got it listed already....I love it!

Raggy Pincushions done and listed

Well I completed a few of my pincushions tonight and got them listed on Etsy and Bonanzle. Here is hoping they will sell!

I also got a raggy purse done. Now I need to make a padded insert and picture it and it will be ready to list. Stay tuned! Maybe I will get to it Monday!

It is the weekend...what to do?

My DH moved my sewing machine to the living room! OH MY! So I took a picture of my new little corner, that is temporary of course, to show y'all. I will be sewing some this afternoon once I get some more coffee in me. I usually sleep in on Saturdays since I get up at 6 the rest of the week.





On my to do list?

1. finish rag purse
2. finish a stack of raggy pincushions
3. list, list, list!

My new Bonanzle Booth

Last month I made the decision to discontinue my selling on eBay, and after investigating some things have decided to and opened a booth on Bonanzle. It is FREE to list items there and they only charge decently priced FVF's after the item sells! The really cool thing is that if you still list items, you can import your active eBay and Craigslist listings and feedback to your Bonanzle Booth.
Bonanzle has a neat feature where you can chat live in your booth too.....I love that! Oh and be sure to check out the Bonanzas going on....I have not started one yet, but plan to soon.

Busy....new listings on etsy!

Well we got back from Texas over the weekend. LONG Trip that was! Visited the in-laws and met my new SIL from Russia. Also we got to meet our new niece who is a cutee!! She is adorable!

I am settling back into sewing again. I got to sew some last night as we had an ice day and I stayed home from my schools I work at.

I did list on etsy several new wallet items I had made up before our trip. There will be several more listed here shortly. Many Valentine decor too. Be sure to check those out and convo me if you have any questions! I can custom make just about anything!
